 প্রধানমন্ত্রীর নির্দেশনা সত্ত্বেও এখনও অতিরিক্ত সুদহার আদায় করছে দেশের অধিকাংশ ব্যাংক। এক অঙ্কে সুদহার নামিয়ে আনার প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়ে সরকারের কাছ থেকে নানা সুযোগ-সুবিধা নিয়েছে কিন্তু তা বাস্তবায়ন করেনি ব্যাংকগুলো। সর্বশেষ তথ্য অনুযায়ী, ডাবল ডিজিটে (১০ শতাংশের বেশি) ঋণের সুদ আদায় করছে দেশি-বিদেশি ২৯টি বাণিজ্যিক ব্যাংক।-----

ওষুধ, মোটর সাইকেল, সিরামিক, টুপিসহ ৯টি পণ্য রফতানিতে ১০ শতাংশ করে নগদ সহায়তা (ভর্তুকি) দেওয়ার ঘোষণা দিয়েছিল সরকার। গত সেপ্টেম্বরে ওই ঘোষণার পরে কেন্দ্রীয় ব্যাংক প্রজ্ঞাপনও জারি করেছিল। মঙ্গলবার (১১ ডিসেম্বর)  ভর্তুকি পাওয়ার শর্ত, আবেদনের নিয়মাবলি এবং ভুলভাবে কাউকে ভর্তুকি দিলে করণীয় বিষয়ে-----
